Welcome to the Stoney Creek Farm News Page
Please send news of your Docs Tejon baby or Stoney Creek Farm Pleasure bred buddy to stnyckqh@windstream.net for posting on this page. We enjoy hearing of your accomplishments and want to share the news! Updated (are you ready? - Dec. 12, 2007!)

I'm late with the News!
Things have still been, and evidently always will be hectic here at the farm! Babies ( are aren't babies anymore!), breeding (booking for the next season!) and the racetrack (working on 08 now!) (yes I manage a track - cars- not horses!) Plus silly me still trying to substitute teach once in a while. I enjoy all of it but not enough time for any some days! There's lots of news to report. I'll get some of it now and hopefully the rest soon. There's some nice Tejon offspring for sale, several well started along with some cute babies. There's also the 'babies' in new homes doing great! Scroll down and see what's up!! Don't worry Jane - I'll get to Okie and Peppy!

Sandy and Max do it again - It's confirmed - DQHA Hi Point!
This year, even with suffering a broken arm, Sandy managed to hit enough shows to finish as the 2007 DQHA High Point All Around Novice Amateur! She took Max to the max with the High Point year end championship in Hunter Under Saddle and Equitation and 2nd in Trail and Horsmanship. They also earned 3rd in Pleasure and 4th in Showmanship! Sandy is recovering from more arm surgery so we all wish her the best with a speedy recovery.

Congratulations on an undefeated year to Chris M.
With a lot of work by a lovely young lady Chris watched his yearling colt by Tejon do awesome in the 4-H and Fair shows. Winning Districts and Regional 4-H events they remained undefeated at halter in 2007! Contratulations!

Did you buy Her? Had a call and would love to know if Docs Diamond Kid filly made it to her new home?
She's a very nice 3 year old mare by Tejon out of The Goddess Flora (Kid Five Cody and Boss Smoke breeding) Naturally talented for cow events she's in the I.F. Sorrel with a star and snip Andrea would love to tell you about her. 724-350-6950

Docs Diamond Kid owned by Andrea is for sale
A very nice 3 year old mare by Tejon out of The Goddess Flora (Kid Five Cody and Boss Smoke breeding) Andrea is moving and needs to cut back so she's put this super mare by Tejon on the market. Naturally talented for cow events she's in the I.F. Sorrel with a star and snip Andrea would love to tell you about her. 724-350-6950

Super quiet 4 year old - dam is daughter of Poco Tivio.
David B in Indiana is selling this lovely mare by Tejon. I know how David starts his babies and they are exceptional from the ground as well as very light under saddle. This mare is well started and needs a direction. Looks to be an awesome Reining prospect. She has a pleasure lope, athletic and more! Great to handle. He would love to get her in a good home with someone who'll show her (so would we - I know she's got it!) The only reason she's for sale is David is keeping an exceptional stud colt by Tejon and can't use her for a broodmare. E-Mail me for his phone number.

Congratulations to Terry and his new buddy 'Willow"
Willow has a great new home in Ohio. She'll be going to a cool clinic in Colorado this fall and possibly live in Florida over the winter! She'll eventually be working cattle and maybe even be a mama down the road. Sounds like she'll have quite the life! Thanks Terry - Best of luck with your ventures! Willow has a new sister at the farm - you're welcome to check her out! (2/07)

Two 3 year old mares under saddle at Trueman Training Center!
Lorie Shaw reports they have 2 Tejon fillies under saddle and both are doing great! Extremely nice reining prospects. I don't have the details yet but will try to get more. Ed Trueman advertises on the Pennsylvania page in the Reiner or email me for their phone numbers.

Tom and Leo hit it off big!
Leo found his soul mate in Tom from Ohio. Tom visited us several times and really liked DT San Leo out of TK Pepilena (by Texas Kicker) He plans on starting him slow and eventually hit the reining pen with his Tejon 'baby'. I expect lots of updates on his progress! Thanks Tom - there's more about Tom on the Congrats page. (12/06)

Some News From the Farm - Standing a Pleasure Stallion!
We are excited to announce that we will be standing Chips Lethal Treasure at the Farm in 2007. He has been spending some time with good friend Denis learning all about the dreaded saddle and is doing exceptionally well. All the folks at the Equestrian Center think he's a gelding! As many of you know - Gabe was seriously injured at 6 weeks of age - he was accidently kicked, rupturing his esophagus at the throat latch. With a will and heart to live he survived his injuries and has finally caught up (we think!) to others his age. He is a 2002 Bay by KCees Lethal Weapon out of Chips Shy Diamond by Chips Chocolate Chip. He is a gorgeous, natural Western Pleasure mover. it is unknown at this time if he will be able to be shown but if at all possible we will make every effort to put points on him. He is currently 16' Hands, whether that would have been his normal height or he would have been taller we don't know, there is very little experience with survival of his type of injury. Our plans include teaching him to collect and getting 'that first mare bred' before we book any outside mares. Please let us know if you may be interested in letting Gabe 'date' your pleasure mares!

Sandy and Max End 2006 as MSQHA Hi Point Novice Amateurs!
Sandy reports a very successful first year showing Max at the MSQHA shows by finishing 1st in Trail, 2nd in Hunter under Saddle and Equitation, 5th in Showmanship and in the Top Ten in Western Pleasure and Horsemanship. Her proudest achievement was 2006 Overall High Point in Novice Amateur! I'm proud too! Sandy has done all the training with Max - not bad for only a year under saddle. Kudoos to a great team! (don't forget - we have another great prospect out of Max's 'mom' Miss Shy Five here at Stoney Creek Farm!)

Peppy Tejon does it again!
Peppy Tejon qualified for 3 events at the 2006 AQHA World Show and made it back in the Sr. Heading Finals. Once again he showed his talent and versatility by claiming another coveted World Trophy. That makes 3 for Peppy - one in each of the roping events! Peppy makes his home in New Mexico with the Pools - Congratulations on a job well done!

Val and Toots are 'Kickin' Butt' in the Wild West!
Val owns one of our first Tejon babies and writes of her adventures in the west. (They've seen more country than we have!) Val took Tejons Tootsie Bar aka Toots (Docs Tejon X Shesa Dreamy Shalako X Chipoco) with her to college and does loads of fun stuff with her. She writes "I thought I would let you know that my awesome little girl... is the proud winner of several trophies this year at school and an awesome buckle from last year. She won her reining class against several other qualified contestants, and she did it in style. She exhibited fast footwork in her turn arounds and loin breaking stops. In addition, at the end of June we went and worked with Terry Wegener, a professional reining and reined cowhorse trainer just outside of Denver, CO, and she slid an amazing 23 feet...." Val sent lots of kind words and some super pictures- hopefully one of these days I'll figure out how to put them on the page. In the meantime - You go girl!! (9/06)

News from Brian and 'Pepsi'
We received a note from Brian in Vermont. He took home DT Pepsi Cody (Docs Tejon X Topsail Jule X Topsail Cody) last year and says he's thrilled with their progress - He writes.... Just wanted to send you a little note from Pepsi. She wants you to know that she is doing great ,she said that she is going to start showing next year as a four year old , She is in training and doing reining and says that she does that job very well.." Hope you don't mind me quoting you Brian. We're excited and can't wait til she starts showing - Best of Luck to both of you. (9/06)

Sandy and Max Win Again!
They're back at it and Sandy writes....Max and I just got back from a 3 day show in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He was Novice Amateur Circuit Trial Champion, High Point Novice Amateur Champion, and All Around High Point Novice Amateur Champion. He showed in Showmanship, Trial, HUS, Equitation, Western Pleasure, and Horsemanship. He missed the Horsemanship Champion by one point. Not bad for being under saddle for about a year and a half....." Another Super Job! Hey everyone - don't forget - Max is out of our great mare Miss Shy Five - and we have a very nice half brother to Max here at the farm! Sorry Sandy - I had to put that plug in - Even tho it's your time to shine! (7/06)

Our Condolences to David in Indiana
Longtime friend and breeder David B. recently lost his great mare Tivios Annie by Right on Tivio. Annie has several exceptional foals by Tejon and had recently been confirmed in foal again for a 2007 baby. David found her in failing health in her pasture and he and the vet were unable to help her - she was humanely put to rest. Please accept our deepest sympathy on your loss. (6/06)

Sandy and Max have successful first show!!
Sandy and Max had a great 1st show in May. She's the proud mom of One Hot Script (Hot N Blazing X Miss Shy Five). They recently competed in Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle, Trail and Equitation. They picked up 1st place honors in trail and equitation and had a 2nd in HUS! Congratulations on a super job! (5/06)

Bad Lena Badger has a new home!
"Roo" has a new home in Virginia. She's started training and doing great. Her new owner hopes to have her in the show pen by the end of summer. Best of Luck with this great looking mare by Docs Tejon out of My Ashley Lena (X Gold Lena) (4/06)

DT Ebony Badger has a new home in Ohio
We are pleased to announce that DT Ebony Badger has found a great home with Kathy Heintel in Ohio. Kathy received the 1999 black gelding (Docs Tejon X Miss Shy Five) as a surprise gift from her husband and daughter. Her daughter Adele attends Murray State and may take "The Black" to school next year for some Team Penning fun! Kathy breeds and trains Chesapeake Retrievers - you can check her site out at www.tlcdogs.net. A super nice family for a super nice guy!

Sandy and Max are headed to Lexington!
Sandy Brewer is looking forward to the 2006 show season. She's the proud mom of One Hot Script (Hot N Blazing X Miss Shy Five). The handsome 2002 bay gelding is getting a workout this winter as Sandy has 6 events in mind for him! He earned his first of many points in 2005 and we're sure this team will tough to beat! (3/06)

Peptivio Tejon found in Michigan!
Longtime Breeder/Friend David Beiswanger, Indiana, has been looking for his 2000 mare by Docs Tejon out of Tivios Annie X Right on Tivio. Annie has been a super cross on Tejon, producing exceptional babies. David does wonderful work with his youngsters and had taught this filly to bow, lie down on command, etc. He took her to 4-H demonstrations where she was loved by all who met her. He sold her as a 2 year old and she was resold to unknown buyers. An ad listing her for sale was recently seen on a popular website and we put David in touch with her new owners (who knew very little of her background!). This mare has a huge stop and has had both cutting and reining training. She was super dispositioned and would make an exceptional performance horse. David has several other Tejon babies for sale with lots of handling and tlc. If your interested in any let us know and we'll give you additional information.
