Docs Tejon has proven his genetic heritage with his heart and athletic ability. His cutting blood was evident when he ranked 2nd at the NCHA Futurity Screening, however his show career started in the Reining pen earning over $5,000 in NRHA events, including a 5th place at the 1995 NRHA Derby in Limited Open. In 1996 he was the Tulsa Drysdale's Holiday Circuit Open Reining Champion.
Tejon returned to the pen in 2001 competing in 5 AQHA events- earning 330 points in competition. Shown by C.R. Bradley with Rick Chayer training, he capped a successful 2002 season by winning both the QH Congress Open Sr. Dally Team Roping Heading and Team Heeling Championships and a Top Ten in Calf Roping.
Docs Tejon is an AQHA Performance Champion with Superiors in Calf Roping, Dally Team Roping Heading and Heeling as well as points in Working Cow Horse and Reining. He has Top Ten finishes at the AQHA World Show and Quarter Horse Congress in Calf Roping and a Congress Top Ten in Reining. Tejon has earned several AQHA Open All Around Awards and finished in the Top Ten in AQHA 2002 High Point Sr. Calf Roping.
Docs Tejon is by Peppy San Badger, NCHA Hall of Famer, 1978 NCHA Derby Champion & a leading sire of cutting money earners . "Little Peppy's" other accomplishments include the 1980 NCHA Reserve World Champion and 1977 NCHA Futurity Champion. Tejon's cutting heritage was proven when Tejon ranked second at the NCHA Futurity screening with Paul Hansma in 1993.
Tejon is passing on his cow sense, intelligence and versatility. With a limited number of foals they are Point and Money Earners in Cutting, Reining, Roping and Team Penning. Out of his second foal crop -his first foal to show AQHA was in 2003 and was the AQHA World Bronze Winner (3rd) in Jr. Heeling and a finalist in Jr. Calf Roping. Out of the same crop his first foal to show in cutting is an NCHA money earner with several wins. No matter what discipline interests you, Tejon's talent, athletic power and proven pedigree will be evident in your foals.
